This new S&C structure is part of our evolution as a competitive program. It will accomplish a number of positives: It will enable the fencers to do their S&C on their own schedule. (You will still be able to do it at CBA, either at the same times, or at different times); It will make cutting-edge fencing S&C available; The app’s Leader Board function will engender positive competition among the fencers for S&C effort; and It will free up more lesson time for Paul and Anna

The summer has been active and fast! Here’s what we’ve done, and will do: Summer Nationals 17 CBA fencers competed in Portland at the end of June. This is the largest fencing tournament in the world: 11 days; 108 strips; 4,000+ fencers; 6,000+ fencer/events. All of our fencers made progress toward becoming nationally competitive: pretty much everyone won pool bouts; about half of our entrants were promoted to the direct elimination; about half of those fencers won at least on

CBA Spring Epee Camp CBA held our Spring epee camp on May 15-16, and then proceeded on to the Minnesota Division epee tournaments on May 17, 2026. The camp focused on sports psychology: we did seminar blocks on Executive Functions and Cognitive Distortions. Then, we worked on Coaching Your Teammates. Due to the Sunday tournament, the bouting was focused on fencing in specific situations, where the emphasis was on touch delivery under time pressure

CBA Youth Tournaments April 19, 2026 CBA hosted the first in our series of Youth-14, Youth-12, and Youth-10 tournaments this week. Although the tournament was on the 250 th anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, the British were not in attendance, apparently having learned their lesson.
