New CBA Epee Strength & Conditioning Program

This new S&C structure is part of our evolution as a competitive program.  It will accomplish a number of positives:

  1. It will enable the fencers to do their S&C on their own schedule. (You will still be able to do it at CBA, either at the same times, or at different times);

  2. It will make cutting-edge fencing S&C available;

  3. The app’s Leader Board function will engender positive competition among the fencers for S&C effort; and

  4. It will free up more lesson time for Paul and Anna at times that the fencers can make.

Atletica will work with the CBA coaches to provide us with information on how the S&C is going.

Fencers are welcome to come to CBA anytime we are open and do their S&C there if they would like. In general, the doors are open by 4:00 pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and the club is open by 8:00 am on Saturday.  Being responsible for your own S&C is a major step in becoming a serious competitive athlete, and our fencers are at the point now where they can do that.

We are looking forward to this next step!  Please let us know if you have any questions.  More information about Atletica is at www.atletica.io.

Pricing

  • $34.50 CAD/month for the first child in a family. Payment directly to Atletica.

  • Any additional child from the same family gets 15% off

This is a monthly subscription; it can be cancelled at any point, but there is a 3-month minimum for this program.

How It Works

  • Every athlete gets their own individual account with personal stats, metrics, and measurements

  • They can link their smartwatch so step data and activity reflect directly in the app and on the leaderboards

  • All training data is tracked in the app, and Atletica has a "build your own workout" option for athletes who train across multiple disciplines (including cardio and running)

  • Workouts are built for both home and gym settings: two tracks depending on what equipment they have access to

  • If the CBA cohort starts together, everyone follows the same core protocol, but each athlete also has autonomous, intuitive access to explore our other programs: prehab, recovery, athleticism, and strength

  • Atletica teaches progressive overload throughout, because we want every athlete to really understand how their own body works, not just follow instructions

  • Once we have the CBA group established,  Atletica will also offer monthly 30-45 min workshops which will be planned using their fencing training feedback as well.

Getting Started

  1. Interested parents and athletes send over their email addresses so we can get them set up - or simply have them fill out the onboarding form which will gather that information for us.

  2. I've attached the onboarding survey. This gets added to the athlete’s individual profile so we know where they're starting from, and it also helps Atletica build the program around what equipment and access they actually have - it is useful if ever they want to get 1:1 coaching as well.

  3. Once we have the minimum number of confirmed/interested athletes, we'll set everything in motion.  Our target start date is September 1. Once we have that group confirmed, Atletica will schedule a group onboarding call to walk everyone through the app features together.

Additional Services

  • 1:1 coaching services are available directly from Atletica
